What Decorative Flake and Quartz Flooring Actually Is

Both systems start with a base coat of epoxy applied to a prepared concrete slab. The difference is in what goes on top of that base.

Broadcast Flake

Colored vinyl chips are scattered, or broadcast, into the wet epoxy base coat across the full surface of the floor. Once the base coat cures, the excess flake is swept away, leaving a consistent color blend embedded in the epoxy. A clear topcoat then seals everything under a smooth, protective finish.
The result is a floor with natural color variation that hides tire marks, dust, and minor scuffs. It is the most popular garage floor system we install in Charleston.

Quartz Broadcast

Instead of vinyl flakes, colored quartz aggregate is broadcast into the base coat.
